Naina JA of Deccan Herald bags Sarojini Naidu Award

Mangalore:The Sarojini Naidu National Award 2013 has been bagged by Naina JA, Correspondent of Deccan Herald, Mangalore. Her special report on the theme Women and Panchayati Raj won her the award. The report entitled Trash to Treasure, Kadaba GP shows the way, had appeared in  Deccan Herald dated June 9, 2013.
The Award is instituted by Hunger Project and  comprises of a cash prize of Rs 2 lakhs and a citation. She will receive the award at a ceremony to be held at India International Centre, Annexe, New Delhi on October 1.

Naina is a gold medalist in Master of Mass Communication and Journalism course of Mangalore University in 2004.

The Sarojini Naidu Awards were earlier won by Ronald Anil Fernandes, Bureau Chief of Deccan Herald Mangalore, Guruvappa Balepuni of Hosa Digantha and Sandhya DSouza of Deccan Herald.
