Mangaluru: After parents of the deceased student, a state level Badminton player alleged that she was murdered, Mangaluru city police commissioner T R Suresh has ordered a fresh probe.

Kavyashree(15), a 10th standard student of Alva’s Educational Institutions, Moodabidiri was found dead at her hostel room on July 20. She was a native of Mangaluru and daughter of Lokesh and Baby, residents of Kateel.

The parents of the deceased alleged that the death of their daughter is a planned murder and warned of moving legally against the institution.

Meanwhile in a statement, Mohan Alva, chairman of the Alva’s Educational Institutions said that proper investigation into the case will bring out the truth and he was ready for probe by any agency.

As per the case registered at Moodabidri police station, the student committed suicide following low marks in her last examinations.

On Friday All India Students Union, DYFI and several other associations protested and demanded impartial investigation into the case.
