Mangalore: Ullal police have arrested one Narayan Salian on the charges of assaulting a  youth with a sickle which he found on the bike of a MESCOM personnel. It is learnt he  was one of the accused in the case of attempt on the life of Muttappa Rai in Bangalore  some time back and also wanted in the case of murder attempt on advocate Harish Rai.

The incident took place in a sudden turn of events when Narayan Salian was heading towards Kotekar from Derlakatte to take his cousin to a beauty parlour. Enroute, Salian in a bid to overtake a bike which two brothers Preetham and Lalith were riding, crashed against the bike.

Though none was injured, the biker riders  questioned Narayan for the rash driving. When a verbal clash ensued, one of the brothers reportedly hit Narayan with his helmet and an agitated Narayam  who found a sickle in a bike nearby assaulted Lalith. His brother  Preetham ran in his bid to escape but was injured in the process.

Narayan was arrested. He too was injured in the clash. It is learnt, he was out on bail in the Harish Rai assault case.
