Mangalore : State Minister for Fisheries, Youth Affairs and Sports Abhayachandra Jain has blamed the BJP for the Mulki incident.

Speaking to reporters here on December 31, Tuesday, the Minister while referring to the incident wherein reports said he had manhandled a protesting autorickshaw driver, said so “People of Mulki region requested to repair the road and I accepted it.” Continuing, he said
“The auto drivers then started shouting slogans. I was ready to argue with them, but I have neither fought with anyone nor hit anyone.”
Abhaya also alleged that some men from BJP said that he fought with the autorickshaw drivers. “If it is my fault I will accept it, but I did not commit any crime,”the Minister asserted.
He also informed that the government has sanctioned Rs 5 crore for the velodrome project, a track cycling arena in Bijapur. The project would soon be initiated with the release of an additional Rs 2 crore grant, he said.
Jain also spoke about his plans to have an international cricket stadium for Mangalore. The search is on for the ideal location. The works will start as soon as land is acquired, he said adding talks have been held with the Chief Minister in this regard.
Srinivas Nayak Indaje, Secretary, DKWJU was also present.
