Mangaluru: Mangaluru Urban Development Authority has granted Rs 1.5 Cr for the development of two lakes near the Kadri Kai Battal and the Kadri Jogi Matt.

On Wednesday, the ritual of pickaxe worship (Guddali Pooja) was jointly performed by Vedavyasa Kamath, MLA of Mangaluru South, Premanand Shetty, newly elected Mayor of Mangaluru City Corporation, and Sumangala Rao, Deputy Mayor of MCC, Ravi Shankar Mijar, President of MUDA and local Corporator Manohar Shetty.

Santosh Kumar Rai Boliar, Chairman of Mysore Industries Ltd, Nitin Kumar, President of Fisheries Development Corporation, and other members of the Mangaluru City Corporation were present.

The local leaders such as Dr. Prashant Marla, Dr. Hansaraj Alva, Vivek Shetty Nagori, and localites were present.
