Mangaluru: Mangalore University (MU) is the only university from the state to enter the medal tally during the recently concluded inter–university games. In the power lifting category, MU participants were declared runners-up in the championship, held at Chandigarh, under the auspices of Punjab University.

In the men’s section, Kannan Vijayan won silver in the 59 kg category, Jaideep won bronze in the 83 kg category, Krishnakumar silver in the 93 kg category and Raghavendra, gold in 105 kg category events.

In the women’s section, Marinadevi and Usha B S won gold medals in 63 and 84 kg categories respectively.

All medal winners from Karnataka belong to Alva’s College in Moodabidri.
