Mangaluru: Msgr Maxim Lawrence Noronha took charge as the new Vicar General of Mangalore Diocese at the Bishop’s house on 26 September 2018. Bishop of Mangalore Diocese Rev Dr Peter Paul Saldanha installed the new Vicar General during a brief ceremony attended by priests and other officials from the Bishop’s house.

Msgr Maxim Lawrence Noronha is a native of Pamboor Parish in Udupi Diocese. Born on 27 December 1961, he was ordained priest on 10 October 1989. He has served as Assistant Parish Priest at Bhalki and Jalasangi in Bidar District and Pangla and Bendur Parishes, and as Parish Priest at Piusnagar, Ferar and Modankap parishes. He has also served as the Procurator of Diocese of Mangalore for 5 years from 2008.
