Mangalore: An MRPL employee was killed in a bike accident near BASF, due to over-speeding on Thursday August 7.

The deceased has been identified as 22-year-old Vineet, a native of Chikmagalur. Vineet worked in the maintenance department of MRPL. He was staying at Jokatte in the city.

It is learnt that the accident took place due to over-speeding. When  a dog crossed by,Vineet lost control and hit the dog. The impact of the accident was such that Vineet was critically injured and the dog too died on the spot.

Vineet died while being rushed to hospital. It is learnt that Vineet had bought a new bike and had not yet even received the registration number.
