Mounting loan, pressure from investors drove Siddhartha to end life?

Mangaluru: Cafe Coffee Day (CCD) founder-chairman V G Siddhartha’s mysterious missing case is now giving way for speculation that he may have ended his life due to huge losses in business.

The business tycoon was last seen on the Netravati bridge on Monday, July 29 evening from where he went missing, as per a complaint filed by his driver.

With speculations being made, many reports claim that Siddhartha may have ended his life due to his mounting business loans.

Sources also claim that the Cafe Coffee Day loans run up to Rs 7,000 cr and Siddhartha wanted to clear this in one go. In this direction, he had once tried and failed to sell off Cafe Coffee Day to Coca Cola.

Some in the media have also claimed that Siddhartha had made a final call to Amalgamated Bean Coffee (parent company of Cafe Coffee Day) Chief Finance Officer Ram Mohan. The call duration was of 56 minutes and it is believed that Siddhartha did not just urge him to take good care of the estates and the companies, but also instructed them to not cut even a single tree in the property.
