Mangaluru: A 19-year-old rider was killed after his motorcycle was hit by a speeding autorickshaw at Kolake Barke in Sajipa Mooda village in Bantwal taluk on the late night of Sunday, November 25.

The deceased has been identified as Manvith, a resident of Sajipa Mooda village. Sources from the Bantwal Police Station informed that the speeding autorickshaw rammed against the motorcycle. As the result, Manvith sustained serious head injuries. Though he was immediately shifted to hospital, he did not respond to the treatment. Soon after the incident, the autorickshaw driver attempted to escape. However, the alert public traced the autorickshaw and also the driver, sources said.

A case has been registered at Bantwal Traffic Police Station in this regard.
