Mangaluru: While expressing opposition to the ‘kiss of love’ campaign, senior congress leader and former KPCC chief B Janardhan Poojary said, an act of excessive activism like moral policing should not be countered with another excess. Such a campaign could attract penal provisions as it amounts to outraging the modesty of women and will only provide another weapon to the Sangh Parivar.

Mr Poojary on Monday, speaking to reporters, said that Chief minister Siddaramaiah should not allow the campaign in Bengaluru. He also asked the CM to arrest the activists if they went ahead with the programme.

He warned that there is a danger of such acts being initiated in government offices and educational institutions if it is allowed.
