Mangalore: Mangalore police took into custody three persons in connection to the assault of a photographer at Kunil Centre, Hampankatte.

According to the police, the arrested persons are Amir from Thokkottu, Aslam from Attavar and Jalil from Kudroli.

The photographer Raghavendra Achar (38) was attacked and assaulted at Kunil centre on Tuesday, October 7 for conversing with a customer, who is said to be from another community.

A group of around 10 men had barged into the shop where the victim worked as a video editor and vandalized the place, destroying the computers and looting cash from the shop. The men also allegedly threatened to kill the victim after assaulting him.

Raghavendra Achar was admitted to a government hospital after the assault.

Besides, the members of South Kanara Photographers Association, Mangalore met Mangalore police commissioner and submitted a memorandum claiming Raghavendra was innocent and to speed up the case.
