Moral policing in Puttur: Student brutally attacked

Puttur :  Moral policemen have raised their ugly head  again with assembly elections  round the corner. In a latest case of intolerance, a group  attacked a Muslim student of a private college in the town, for the sole reason that he spoke to his classmate who happened to be a Hindu girl.

The  badly bruised student Zubair has been admitted to the hospital. According to Zubair, two persons including one Narmesh waylaid him on April 8 Monday when he was on way home from college. They  questioned him for speaking to his classmate and then attacked him. Zubair said later he was chased by a group of ten persons from Nellikatte till the Puttur bus stand and once again attacked for the same reason.

Puttur police have registered a case. So far police have not arrested anyone in connection with the case.
