Mangalore: In an alleged case of moral policing, about ten activists on Tuesday barged into the shop of a photo editor, belonging to a Hindu community, for allegedly conversing with a girl of Muslim community.
The police gave the name of victim as Ragavendra Achar (38). He runs a shop called ‘Frontline Designer’ in Kunil Centre, Hampankatte. It’s learnt that the girl had come to the office to edit the photo.
Achar said the group not only assulated but threatened to kill him. They destroyed the office and looted Rs 50,000 from the shop, he added.
The victim is recovering in the government hospital.
Mangalore North police arrived at the spot and are investigating the matter. The police are tracing the miscreants.
