Mangaluru: Five youth reportedly belonging to pro-hindu organisation have been arrested for attacking a youth from Udupi for speaking to a girl from another community.
Chetan(23), a resident of Kunjathbail, Ashwin Raj(21), from Kanduka, Rakshit Kumar(21) from Sringeri, Sharath Kumar(20) from Car street and Sushanth Shetty(23) from Karkala, who are said to be Bajrang Dal activists were arrested by Pandeshwar police on Monday.
The incident occured on April 3, when Harshad(21) from Udupi visited the Forum Mall with a girl from another community. The BD activists who entered the mall asked the girl to go away and thrashed the youth.
The arrest was made after the girl went to the Pandeshwar police station and informed police about the incident. Police soon plunged into action and arrested the five activists.
Further investigation is on.
