Mangalore: Showcasing the portrait of writer K Shivaram Karanth, the Sirsi-born artist, Vinay Hegde illustrated a spread of the 10 avatars of Vishnu all done amid devotional music and murmurs of the crowds guessing the name of the Avatar even before it took shape on the canvas at Don Bosco Hall on Friday December 27.

The monochromatic images created an essence of magic and amaze for the viewers when the halos seemed to emanate a greenish light captured by the canvas.
The artist, Hegde displayed the art form for about 5 minutes and brought alive the stage. When asked about the differences between glow art and other art forms, Hegde said there was no scope for mistake in the art form as, once the torch light strikes the canvas, the imprint is made and if mistakes are made then it is clearly visible to the audience. An artist therefore needs to be very careful, he said.
