Vittal: The ones owning black money are still busy finding out ways to do away with the extra ‘black Moolah’ after the November 8 demonetisation move of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In Vittal, the locals were rather taken by surprise when the invalid Rs 500 and Rs 1000 denomination notes started flying out of a KSRTC bus that was plying in the vicinity. Billing it off as a rich man’s innovative way to bid adieu to unaccounted money, the locals drenched themselves in the money shower and returned home leaving behind no trace of the incident at all. The only people who remained clueless about the same were the late entrants – the police and the journalists.
It is said that a man seated on the last seat of the KSRTC bus plying from Puttur to Vittal had thrown this money away. The money was thrown for about 100 mts and the locals estimate that the unidentified person must have thrown about a lakh this way.
The news spread like wildfire and in no time a large crowd gathered at the spot. The locals were seen going hysteric picking the high denomination notes that could be of great help to them. It is said that some locals managed to get more than Rs 5000. But, when reporters and police tried to probe, the locals acted innocent.
“We saw the money, but there was already a huge crowd pouncing on the notes,” said most of the locals claiming that their hands were clean.
With no proof that such an incident had even occurred, the police and the scribes only returned ’empty-handed’!
