Mangaluru: The Mangaluru South police arrested a person in connection with the theft of mobile phones and seized 5 mobile phones and a motorcycle from his possession, altogether estimated at Rs 1.08 Lakh on Friday, February 15.

The arrested has been identified as Mohammed Afrid (21), a resident of Bajal. Sources from Mangaluru South police station informed that the accused stole a mobile phone from a pedestrian when he was walking in Bunder area on January 20, 2019. It is said that he was targeting those people who were walking alone.

Based on credible information, the police team headed by Inspector K M Shareef nabbed the accused and seized the stolen articles.
