Mangaluru: Close on the heels of former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy releasing a video clipping with regard to the incident of violent protest against Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA), which led to the death of two people after police opened fire in the city on December 19, Mangaluru Commissioner of Police Dr P S Harsha informed that some clips and pictures being circulated are completely out of context.

The Compol said that the people must come to conclusion only after watching the whole video clippings that are shared on Mangaluru City Police Facebook page.

Without mentioning the name of former CM Kumaraswamy and the video clippings released by him on Friday, Dr P S Harsha, in a video message on Saturday said, “Truth can be revealed only when these visuals are examined in their proper context. Police resorted to firing only when the protesters go violent. There was prohibitory order in the city. A group of protesters assembled unlawfully, violating prohibitory orders and it was inevitable for the police to take action against such violent protesters so as to maintain peace and order in the city. The police would submit all evidence to the CID and Magisterial probe, the two constitutional investigating authorities.”

H D Kumaraswamy has released as many as 35 video clippings on Friday, related to the incident of protest and police firing, alleging that the police had misused the situation. He also demanded the resignation of Dr P S Harsha.
