Mangaluru: A private financier was alleged of defrauding a man of Rs. 18,119 under the guise of facilitating loans.

According to sources, the man was contacted by an unnamed financier who requested that he submit KYC documents to obtain a loan.

Later, he received a call informing him that his loan had been approved and that he needed to pay the agreement charges using UPI.

Later, he filed a complaint with the city police station after not receiving the promised loan amount.

Further investigation is on.
