Mangaluru: Customs officials at Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) on Wednesday June 22 arrested a man from Bhatkal for smuggling gold into the country.

He had arrived from Dubai on a Spicejet flight SG60was arrested for smuggling gold into the country.

According to the officials, the 24-carat gold weighing 364.5 grams was seized from him and its market value was Rs. 18,95,400.

The gold paste was carried in a carton box and was packed in a paper and plastic packet that was hidden within a stitched pocket of women’s under garment.
