As the incident led to widespread outrage, with many demanding that an inquiry be conducted, Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa, on December 23, ordered the CID to investigate the issue.
Several people have replied to the compol’s tweet with videos attached, asking him to investigate the police who were out on duty and using excessive force when dealing with the public.
It can be recalled that violent clashes broke out between the police and anti-CAA protesters on Thursday, December 19. Two persons were killed when police opened fire on the protesters. While the police claim that they opened fire as a last resort, many others have claimed that the police used undue force to deal with the protesters.
