Mangaluru: Mangaluru South MLA D Vedavyas Kamath sent the substandard rice, that was meant for the people of the Dakshina Kannada district, back from the godown of the food department at Shakthinagar, on Tuesday, April 21.

During his visit to the godown in Shakthinagar, the MLA noticed the substandard rice and immediately asked the officials of the food department to return the rice.

Kamath returned from the godown only after ensuring that the substandard rice was loaded onto the truck and sent back.

Corporator Kishore Kottary and BJP leaders Vijay Kumar Shetty, Roopa D Bangera, J Surendra, Ramesh Kandettu, Bhaskarchandra Shetty, Ajay and others were present.
