Mangalore : The renovated HOPCOMS mart at the Karangalpady market in Mangalore was inaugurated on July 6, Saturday by JR Lobo, MLA of Mangalore South Constituency.
In his address, Lobo, while appreciating the efforts of HOPCOMS in renovating the mart, also urged it to ensure good maintenance of the outlet.
Joe Pradeep DSouza, Managing Director of Dakshina Kannada HOPCOMS said that the outlet at Karangalpady market was renovated at a cost of Rs 2.5 lakhs sanctioned under the Rashtriya Krishi Vikasa Yojana of the government.
Ravichandra Shetty, HOPCOMS Manager, informed that five HOPCOMS outlets have been renovated during the year 2012-13 out of the eight outlets that were proposed to be renovated. He also stated that the HOPCOMS business has risen substantially to Rs 8 crores from the previous Rs 4 crores.
K Lakshminarayana Udupa, President of HOPCOMS, Panduranga Hegde, its Vice President, D K Ashok, Corporator and others were present.
