Mangaluru: Mangaluru South MLA D Vedavyas Kamath laid the foundation stone for various developmental works at the Mangala Stadium on Tuesday, June 9.

As the government has released grant-in-aid for the up-gradation of the stadium, the first phase of the developmental works will be undertaken here soon.

After laying the foundation stone, MLA D Vedavyas Kamath said, “As the Youth and Sports department intends to give more prominence to sports and sportspersons, the Central and State Governments decided to upgrade the stadium. The various developmental projects will start soon.”

Mayor Divakar Pandeshwar, Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat president Meenakshi Shanthigodu, vice president Kasturi Panja, Smart City Managing Director Mohammed Nazeer, Sports and Youth Empowerment president Pradeep, corporator Sandhya Achar and others were present.
