Mangaluru: Mangaluru South MLA D Vedavyas Kamath laid the foundation stone for the development of Beedu road at Bajal ward on Sunday, June 14.

Kamath after laying foundation stone informed that under chief minister’s special grant, the development of Bajal, Beedu road, and drainage work has been undertaken at the cost of Rs 4.5 lakh. “As local residents had apprised me about their problems especially during the rainy season, I had visited this area and found a genuine problem. As I had promised of taking essential measures to rectify the problem, foundation stone has been laid for the development of road and drainage connection today,” he said.

Meanwhile, Kamath informed that 38 wards that come under the Mangaluru South Assembly constituency will be developed under the chief minister’s special grant. “The work will be undertaken phase by phase and appropriate steps have been taken for the all-round development of the city”, he added.

Corporator Ashraf and other BJP leaders Chandrashekhar Jayanagar, Shivaji Rao, Venugopal, Prasad Shetty, Charith Poojary, Ganesh, Vineeth, Devadas Melanta, and others were present.
