Mangaluru: Mangaluru South MLA J R Lobo distributed cheques to 47 Swavalambana scheme beneficiaries for the year 2016-17.

The Swavlambana scheme is instituted by the Karnataka State Minority Development Corporation(KMDC).

Under this scheme, persons belonging to religious minority communities in association with and through banks/financial institutions, are monetarily assisted to start and improve business, small scale cottage industries, service sector, agriculture based activities etc.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA Lobo called upon the beneficiaries to effectively utilise the loan amount for their betterment.

KMDC District Manager In-charge Safwan was present on the occasion.
