Mangaluru: Mangaluru MLA D Vedavyas Kamath laid the foundation stone for the developmental works at Bajal on Wednesday, June 10.

After laying foundation stone Vedavyas Kamath said that locals at Bajal ward had met him and asked him to develop a road that connects to Kallurti temple in Jayanagar. “As the existing road was completely damaged due to heavy rain last year, this road will be repaired at the cost of Rs 10 lakh. Along with the development of road, drainage work will also be undertaken,” he said.

Meanwhile, Kamath informed that as Bajal ward was added to Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) only a few years ago, lots of grants-in-aid is needed for the developmental of Bajal ward. “Proper measures will be undertaken for the overall development of Bajal ward in the coming days,” Kamath added.

Corporator Ashraf, BJP leaders Vijay Kumar Shetty, Chandrashekhar Jayanagar, Shivaji Rao Jalligudde, Venugopal Rao, Rajesh Shetty, Prakash Shetty, Prasad Shet, Pushparaj, Charith Poojary, Balakrishna, Ganesh, and others were present.
