MLA Bava says cattle theft cases will not be tolerated

Mangalore : Mangalore North MLA Mohiuddin Bava who has strongly condemned the rising cases of cattle thefts in the district in the recent past, has  informed that the  Mangalore Police Commissioner has been asked to form a special squad to track down the culprits and also ensure that such incidents did not recur.

Speaking to reporters here on August 2, Friday, Bava  rubbished allegations that he was shielding culprits in cattle theft cases and added no scope would be given to anyone to disturb peace and harmony. He also stated that he has already been mounting pressure on the cops to track down the thieves at the earliest.

He said talks will be held with the Police Department to increase night patrolling. Bava also assured action against illegal slaughter houses functioning at various places.

VHP protest : The Vishwa Hindu Parishat staged a protest at Suratkal on Friday charging the  Congress government of failure  to take action against cattle thieves and for not imposing a total ban on cow slaughter.

MB Puranik, VHP Vice President, Franklin Monteiro, BJP Minorities Morcha Vice President and others took part in the protest.
