Belthangady: Several attempts are being made to save river Netravati. After taking to street and holding several bundhs, an organisation in Mangaluru has started ‘missed call campaign’ to save the river.
Recently the Central Ministry for Environment gave its nod to fell as many as 5000 trees in the eco-sensitive Western Ghats to make way for Yettinahole project. Pained by this, a group of 30 like-minded people have joined hands to save those 5000 trees and also river Netravati through this campaign. The ones who are in support of the organisation can simply give a missed call to 8010271100 and show their solidarity.
The organisation is also trying to reach to the Prime Minister of India to make the voice of the coastal people heard through change.org.
