Ullal: Few miscreants pelted stones at a Kerala bound bus near Talapady toll gate here on Friday night.
The incident occurred ahead of Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s visit to Mangaluru to participate in a communal harmony rally. Several right wing groups including members of Hindu Jagarana Vedike, Vishwa Hindu Parishat, Bajrang Dal and Sri Rama Sene have extended their support for the protest march by BJP against the Kerala CM.
Stones were pelted when the bus was going towards Kasaragod from Mangaluru. No passenger was injured. The incident occurred despite tight police security in the area.
Meanwhile, the police have made elaborate security arrangements for Saturday’s rally and notices have also been served to over 41 people, who called for a bandh on that day, seeking clarifications.
The right wing activists led by BJP has been at logger heads with the left front-led Kerala government over killings of several right wing activists in several parts of that state including Kasaragod and neighbouring state’s Dakshina Kannada district.
