Minister U T Khader Clarifies Govt has no role in 108

Bangalore: The government has no relation to the protest call given by by the staff of state-owned ambulance service “108”, clarified state health minister U T Khader.

Meanwhile, the minister Khader cautioned the contractor – GVK Company that has been issued to contract to run 108 ambulance service, if the patients face any hardship in this regard.

Addressing the media persons, minister Khader said as per the contract that has been signed by GVK Company and state government to run 108 ambulance service; the  Company is responsible to pay the salaries and maintenances of ambulance fleet.

“If the employees of ambulance service present a handwritten copy of a complaint to the state authorities, over their grievances on salaries; it will take action against the Company,” said minister Khader.

Amidst this, Karnataka state Arogya Kavacha (108) employees Association president R Sridar, urged the state authorities to maintain ambulance service 108 by the government itself and provide job security to the employees, urged Sridar.
