Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada district in-charge Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary promised that the government will take all measures to ensure that Goushalas in the state will run properly without any issues.
After listening to the issues faced by the Goushalas in the district, Kota visited a Goushala named ‘Govanithashraya Trust’ located in the Pajeeru village of the Bantwal taluk on Friday, May 1.
“Necessary measures will be taken to procure fodder for the Goushalas from Hassan and Chikkamagaluru. I will contact the department of Animal Husbandry and take measures to provide passes for the fodder transporting trucks,” the Minister assured.
After the lockdown was enforced, many Goushalas, including the ‘Govanithashraya’, have been facing a shortage of fodder for the cattle. The number of donors who are helping the Goushalas also dropped after the lockdown was enforced. The Goushalas have been forced to function with multiple problems.
After receiving assurances from Minister Kote, the people running Goushalas can now breathe easy.
