MIA custom sleuths seize gold over 3 lakhs

Mangaluru: The officers of customs at Mangalore International Airport on Sunday November 9 seized 140.900 grams of gold from a passenger.

The gold was seized from a passenger identified as Shanid Angillath (23), of Thaikadappuram, Kasargod.

The gold was in the form of cut pieces of a gold bar concealed in a microwave oven motor. The seized gold was valued at Rs 3, 69,158.

The passenger arrived at Mangalore International Airport on November 9 at about 17.25 hours by Air India Express flight IX 384 from Dubai.

Further investigation is under progress.
