Mangalore: The Kadri police had filed case against 6 persons, for celebrating the death of Kannada writer, U R Ananthamurthy by bursting crackers, out of which five have been arrested on Tuesday August 26.

The arrested have been identified as K B Manoj Poojary (30) of Ujjodi, Vijesh Poojary (24) of Shaktinagar, Sharath Shetty (20) of Amblamogaru, Anil, a resident of Pumpwell and Umesh.

On August 22, after the death of U R Ananthamurthy members of a right wing group celebrated by bursting crackers at Kadri.

There arrested have been remanded in judicial custody.
