Moodabidri : A medicinal plant garden atop a hillock adjoining BT Road in Kadandale village limits was destroyed in wildfire on February 8.

The wildfire spread over 10 acre area and the efforts by local auto drivers to douse the flames went in vain. Fire force personnel struggled hard to bring the ravaging fire under control.

The medicinal plant garden jointly developed by Kadandale Forest Committee and Moodabidri division of state forest department had around 345 medicinal plants belonging to 145 different species.

Praveen from Moodabidri fire service department, Prakash Shetty , Range Forest Officer and member of district Zilla Panchayath Sucharitha Shetty along with personnel from forest and police department monitored the dousing operations .
