
Mangaluru: The Mangaluru City Corporation has finally decided to rename Mangaluru Town Hall after social reformer late Kudmul Ranga Rao on Wednesday, August 29.
Addressing a press meet here at MCC, Mayor Bhaskar M said, ” District in-charge minister UT Khader will inaugurate and also lay a foundation stone for various development works of Rs 47241.10 Lakhs in the city. During the occasion the renaming ceremony of Town Hall as ‘Kudmul Ranga Rao Town Hall’ will be held at Town Hall, around 10:30 am.”
“UT Kahder who is also state minister for Urban Development and Housing will inaugurate 13 developmental works completed at a cost of Rs 11.55 crore and also lay foundation stone for 28 new works, which will be completed at a cost of Rs 516 crores in the city,” the Mayor said.
Briefing on development projects the Mayor said that the MCC is implementing developmental works at a cost of Rs 411.00 Lakhs under the 14th Finance Commission, eight projects worth Rs 567.60 Lakhs under the Premium FAR and two projects at a cost of Rs 218 lakhs under Enterprises Fund. The total cost of the developmental projects(including completed and starting projects ) will be of Rs 47241.10 Lakhs.
The Mayor also said that the Mangaluru City Corporation will be sending Rs 10 Lac as relief fund for Kodagu flood victims.
“The MCC will provide Rs 10 Lac to the Kodagu flood victims. This amount has been collected after pooling together a day’s salary of the employees and one-month honorarium from the corporators,” the Mayor added.
Deputy Mayor Muhammad Kunjathabail, Corporator Shashidar Hegde and others were present.
