Mangalore : In an effort to check the spread of vector borne diseases like Malaria and Dengue and to ensure hotels maintained cleanliness, a Mangalore City Corporation team lead by its Health Officer Manjayya Shetty raided several hotels at the State Bank area and served notices to most of them. The hotels were also instructed to adhere to the cleanliness norms laid down by the City Corporation, within the next ten days.








The MCC team also comprising health inspectors Yashwanth, Ramu, Sushanth and Nirmala carried out raids on Hotel Bombay Lucky, Hotel Swagath, Hotel Aradhana, Jain Restaurant, Hotel Sri Ganesh and Hotel Vrindavan. Notices were served to all except Hotel Swagath. Hotel Aradhana was found to have violated rules and its trade licence seized. Hotel Swagath was asked to have exhaust fans in its kitchen while the team found Jain Restaurant selling groceries. The restaurant was asked to either sell groceries or run a hotel.
The City Corporation has already formed three separate teams to raid hotels and other places in Mangalore South, Mangalore Centtral and Suratkal area in the backdrop of a decision taken at a meet chaired by State Health Minister Khader recently.
