Mangaluru: Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) has been distributing a kit of grocery items, which includes seven essential commodities like 5 kg rice, daal, sugar etc in all 60 wards in the MCC limits through the respective corporators.

After the enforcement of lockdown in district, many people have been left jobless and they are struggling to lead their life. Though government has asked the Banks not to insist its customers to pay EMI for another three months and given relaxation on paying electricity bill among others, poor people are struggling to make both ends meet. Keeping the sufferings of the poor families in mind, the MCC came forward to lend a helping hand.

Mayor Diwakar Pandeshwar has taken the responsibility of providing grocery items to the needy. The corporators were asked to identify the needy in their wards and make sure that the food kit reaches them.

t can be also noted that BJP too disbursed ‘Modi Kit’ to the lockdown victims of all corporation wards and the MCC distributed the grocery kits to those who missed the ‘Modi Kit’.

Mayor Divakar Pandeshwar speaking to Newskarnataka.com informed that the intention is to help the needy people in large number.
