Mangaluru: Addressing a press conference at the Meeting Hall of the Mangalore Catholic Co-operative Bank Ltd. ( MCC) Head Office at Hampankatta, here in the city today, the Chairman Anil Lobo, flanked by members of his Board, announced that MCC Bank is gearing up to be one of the city’s premier Banks. It has plans to modernize its branches and operations, with its Kankanady and Shirva ranches, moving into Airconditioned premises, and improving the ease of doing business with the Bank with the launch of 4 ATM Kiosks at Karkala, Bajpe, Kankanady (in the city) and Shirva and E-Stamping facilities in all its branches in a phased manner from 9th to the the 15th of this month as follows:
- 09 September 9 at 9.30 am at Karkal branch, Mahammayi Complex, near Taluk Office, Karkal 3rd ATM Centre and E-Stamping Launching Ceremony.
- September 11 at 9.30 am at Bajpe branch, D’Cunha Complex, near Bajpe Bus Stand, 4th ATM Centre Inauguration.
- September 12 at 9.30 am at Kanakanady Branch, Emporium Complex, Kankanady inauguration of Renovated Air-conditioned Premise and 5th ATM Centre Launching.
- September 15 at 10 am at Shirva Branch at Shirva Main Road, near Bus Stand will be Shifted to Air-conditioned New Premises and 6th ATM Centre Inauguration.

Lobo highlighted the growth and progress of MCC Bank from its humble beginning in 1912 to becoming a strong Urban Co-operative Bank today. He said the growth was possible because of the co-operation and support its members, account holders and borrowers and professionalism of its staff. He said customers are flocking to the bank on their own, because of the friendly and prompt service rendered by the staff and officers. However, technology is changing the way banks improve the lives of their customers and the MCC bank is also changing with times. “All the current initiatives, whether the introduction of Core banking, ATM’s, or renovated and people-friendly premises, are targeted at improving our customers’ banking experience,”, he said.

The MCC Bank has facilities for Lockers, Demand Drafts, RTGS/ NEFT/IMPS, SMS alert service, PAN Card, Senior Citizen card, ATM facility, Mobile Banking and very soon facilities for E-Stamping will also be made available in all the branches.
It was clear from their interaction with the press that the Board of Directors under the leadership of Mr. Anil Lobo has a clear vision to take the Bank to new heights. The Board has at the start of its term itself, implemented Continuous Training for its staff, and schemes like Direct and Quick Vehicle Loans, Renovation of Branch Premises, etc. The bank has already won the hearts of generation next with its ‘Vidya Bhavishya’ Students Savings Account Scheme and also has planned various attractive schemes for the future. These schemes the board believes will facilitate the bank to increase the volume of Low-Cost Funds. Senior Citizens Card, Pan Card has already been implemented in all branches and E-Stamping facility has been implemented at Hampankatta, Kankanady, Bajpe, B.C.Road and Udupi branches, now this facility will be extended to Karkala branch too.
The Loan System has been modified to provide better Credit Facilities to Customers. Home loan at 9.50%, Quick Vehicle Loan at 9.50%, Mortgage Loan, Business Loan, Education Loan, and House Renovation Loans are also being arranged at low-interest rates and in a more simplified way. All in all the effort is to ease the effort of banking.
