Mangaluru: MLA Vedavyas Kamath recently flagged off the gutter construction work in the Maroli Ward under the Mangaluru City Corporation limits at a cost of Rs 15 lakhs.

Speaking to the media he said, “I was briefed by the local leaders about the residents of the Maroli Ward facing minor flooding during the monsoons. By constructing a retaining wall on either sides of the gutter, slight relief can be achieved. Hence, the funds for the first phase has been sanctioned for the construction. Currently, we will try and complete the work as per the funds for the first phase. In the coming days, more funds will be sanctioned and the retaining wall construction work at other places will be carried out.”

“This ward needs a lot of attention for developmental projects and the government and MCC will extend full support to it,” he added.

Kamath said that by developing each ward of the MCC, a wholesome development of the district is possible. For this, he requested everybody to extend their support, which would be of great help.

MCC member Keshav Maroli, BJP leaders Kiran Maroli, Jagannath Shenoy, Malathi and others were present.
