Mangaluru: In a shocking incident, the mutilated body of a man was found in a drainage channel at Chokkabettu near Surathkal Krishnapura road on Saturday, June 2.

The deceased, who has been identified as Mariyappa is said to be in his late forties and a native of Koppal.

The remains of the youth were spotted by locals who immediately alerted the Surathkal police. The body had reportedly, been stuffed into gunny bags and thrown near a drain here.

The police who rushed to the spot immediately for investigations have said that prima-facie evidence indicate towards murder.
