Mangaluru: The work between Mani-Sampaje state highway, which is over 11kms will be completed by January end, promised S.D Ashok, executive engineer, Karnataka Road Development Corporation Limited (KRDCL) at the district vigilance and monitoring committee meeting on Thursday. Inquiry

Nalin Kumar Kateel directed the Deputy Commissioner to conduct an inquiry into allegations of beneficiaries of government housing schemes, viz. Indira Awaz Yojana and Basava Vasati Yojana, selling their houses and applying for another housing scheme. The MP said that he had received over ten complaints.

He directed the officials to submit a report on the same in ten days.

Shiradi Ghat work

“The concretization of Shiradi Ghat stretch will commence from December 1”, said PWD Executive Engineer A.G Dharmaraj. In the first phase, a 13.62 km stretch at the bottom portion of the Shiradi Ghat, and in the second phase,  21 km of road from Gulagale and Heggadde and 12 km of road from Heggadde to Addahole, will be taken up. Contractors have been directed to complete the work within 18 months, he said.

Nalin Kumar Kateel asked them to speed up the work, without postponing the deadline, as it was an important highway, and there is no alternative road during monsoon.
