Mangaluru: Here’s some good news for Mangalureans as the ‘Virology Research and Diagnostic Laboratory’ at the district Wenlock Hospital is now fully functional. Now, COVID-19 test results will be out within hours after samples are taken.

So far, the Dakshina Kannada district was completely dependent on Bengaluru or Hassan for COVID-19 testing of throat swabs samples.

The health department has deployed a team of experienced staff at the lab to test the samples.

Meanwhile, the Super Speciality Hospital of the Wenlock Hospital was converted into a COVID-19 block from Monday. So far, suspected and confirmed COVID-19 cases were being housed in the Ayush Hospital.
