Mangaluru: A young man who went to remove algae from a garden lake accidentally fell into the lake and died. This tragic incident was reported from Palthadi Village under Bellare Police Station.
The deceased youth has been identified as Gopalakrishna K (34), son of Monappa Naika and a resident of Kaputamule Palthadi Village.
Gopalakrishna had gone alone to remove the algae from the garden lake of his house but as he did not return the family members went near the lake and saw that Gopalakrishna’s slippers were floating in the water of the lake. On suspicion, he put a wooden boat into the water of the lake and then Gopalakrishna’s shirt was caught in the boat’s hook.
The deceased’s father Monappa Naika, immediately called his brothers and took the dead body in an autorickshaw to Keyur and brought it to the Puttur Government Hospital in an ambulance.
