Mangaluru Town Hall renamed as ‘Kudmul Ranga Rao Town Hall’

Mangaluru: State Minister for Urban Development and Housing UT Khader on Wednesday launched a renaming ceremony of Town Hall as ‘Kudmul Ranga Rao Town Hall’ by the unveiling plaque here on Wednesday, August 29.

During this occasion, U.T. Khader also inaugurated 13 new projects and laid the foundation for 27 new projects total costing of Rs 462.45 crore in the city

In his address to the gathering, State minister UT Khader said, ” Kudmul Ranga Rao is a good humanitarian and social reformer. He served for upliftment backward class and Daliths during those days. Kudmul Ranga Rao is a visionary who built several schools and hostels for the development of the backward class and downtrodden classes in the society.”

“During 1890s, Kudmul Ranga Rao with his vision had started a skill development and job oriented courses to bring the socially backward class to mainstream in the society. He should be an inspiration for the present generation youth,” he added.

Khader also informed that in coming days Mangaluru City Corporation will go under the digital transformation process and provide a paperless service to the people in the city.

Giving an cautionary advice to the officials in the Mangaluru City Corporation Khader said, ” Those officers who are working for more than 15 years in City Corporations will be transferred if they provide poor performances to the people.”

“Government servants should give good service to the people without any discrimination, it is duty and responsibility of the government servants,” Khader said.

Speaking during the occasion, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel said,” the flyover at Pumpwell and Thokkuttu will be completed by January 2019.

“The National Highway Authority has prepared a DPR for the construction of a six-lane road from BC Road to Mangaluru under the Sagar Mala Project,” Kateel said.
