Mangaluru: In the wake of the confusion over the pipeline work of the project to provide drinking water to Mangaluru Constituency and several villages in Bantwal Constituency, Urban Development Minister Byrathi Basavaraj visited the jackwell constructed at Aladi and held discussions with officials and Gram Panchayat Members of Sajeepa Munnoor Gram Panchayat limit.

The Minister instructed the officials to give water to Sajeepa Munnur village. He also convinced the Gram Panchayat to give permission for the installation of raw water and purification water pipelines that provide water to many villages in Ullal and Bantwal.

Speaking on the occasion, Bantwal MLA Rajesh Naik said, “We are aware that there has been injustice in the past in the matter of drinking water to Sajeepa Munnur village and after fighting for this for two years in a row, a project worth Rs.279 crore has been sanctioned, which is a permanent water project for the five Gram Panchayats of Bantwal. However, as the borewell was dug for an immediate solution but there was no water available, the minister was called to the spot and talks were held in front of the Gram Panchayat President and members to resolve the issue.

The Minister has also instructed the officials concerned to get water from the multi-village drinking water project for immediate relief. After visiting Aladi plantation and holding consultations, the Ministers and MLA along with officials visited the purification plant constructed at Mudipu and inspected it.
