Mangaluru: A PUC student died by suicide. She succumbed to her illness on Sunday February 19 at a hospital.

The deceased has been identified as Dhanya (17), the eldest daughter of Somanatha and Bhavya, a native of Tamil Nadu, who lives in Kumpala Ashraya Colony.

Dhanya was a second PU student of Ramakrishna College in Mangaluru. On the afternoonof February 14, dhanya who was on leave, was not at home when her mother Bhavya went to house. She died after failing to respond to treatment at the hospital.

Dhanya’s father Somnath works as a mason and her mother Bhavya works in a pickle factory and earns a living by doing housework in the evenings.
