Mangaluru: Former Minister Abhayachandra Jain said that the Block Congress will stage a protest in front of the Taluk Office at 10.00 am on Wednesday March 1 against the rampant corruption in various Government departments in Moodabidri, including the Taluk office.
Speaking to mediapersons, he said, “Applications of the common man have been pending for months and years in various departments, including the Taluk Office and the Survey Department. The work of those who have paid is done quickly,” he alleged.
“Corruption is on the rise and officials and employees have forgotten to behave courteously with people. During my 20-year-long tenure as an MLA, I used to make surprise visits to various departments once a week to warm up to the officials,” he recalled.
He alleged, “the fact that the present MLAs were not doing such work so the officials are delaying the work of the people and also contributed to the rise in corruption.”
