Mangaluru: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has taken the five accused arrested in connection with the murder of Praveen Nettaru into six-day custody for questioning.

Noufal, Abid, Mohammad Sayyed, Abdul Basheer and Riyaz have been remanded to NIA custody till Tuesday August 23. Praveen Nettaru was brutally murdered in Bellare, Sullia on the night of July 20, following which the Bellare Police registered a case under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and arrested the accused.

The State Government had handed over the case to the NIA for further investigation. NIA officials, who have intensified the investigation into the matter on Thursday August 18 took the five accused into their custody for questioning.
